The Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) committee is made up of Farm Bureau members between the ages of 18-35, who are engaged in agriculture or in the equine industry. This program cultivates Farm Bureau’s next generation through leadership development, advocacy growth and training and networking opportunities.

General Information

This committee provides personal growth to its members by helping them:

  • Acquire cutting edge information through participation in educational conferences;
  • Build a network with fellow farmers, ranchers and agricultural enthusiasts;
  • Earn recognition for achievements in business and leadership; and
  • Continue their professional development.

Sept. 8th & 9th  – Farm Fresh Fest at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area

Early Sept. Social – Jekanowski Tobacco Farm & UMass Social

Oct. 3rd– Forgotten Farms Screening at UConn in Storrs, CT. Sponsored by CT YF&R

Early Oct. Social – Topsfield Fair

November TBD: Road trip to Montreal for farm tours and legislative visit.

November 29th – BOD Meeting and Evening Out, Framingham

November 30th-December 1: MFBF Annual Meeting in Framingham

December 12th-14th: New England Vegetable and Fruit Conference, Manchester NH

2017 YF&R Board Meetings
Anyone is welcome and invited to attend and take part in discussion/planning. Only designated county representatives (2 spots per county) can vote.

Sept. 6 @ 6 PM – MFBF Headquarters in Marlborough
Nov. 29 – Location/time TBD. Likely in Framingham before MFBF annual meeting.
