Three Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) members, who serve on the statewide young farmers & ranchers (YF&R) committee are heading to Reno, Nevada, for tours, breakout sessions and networking opportunities at American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF’s) YF&R Leadership Conference.

“We are very lucky to have members who are willing to travel across the country to attend this conference,” said MFBF YF&R Chair Heidi Cooper. “It is a great opportunity for them to expand their advocacy skills, network with other young farmers from across the country and learn about business practices they can utilize on their farms.”

While in Reno, the group will attend a general session where they will hear from Tyne Morgan, host of the U.S. Farm Report. Additionally, they will be able to attend breakout sessions to learn about farm management, opportunities within AFBF and more.

“The skills we gain at these conferences are laying the foundation for our future leadership,” Cooper said. “I can’t wait to see what information our delegation comes back with.”

MFBF members who will be attending this conference, included:

  • Chris Grant, YF&R Vice Chair and Essex County farmer
  • Briana Mann, MFBF YF&R Secretary/Treasurer and Middlesex County farmer
  • Ryan MacKay, MFBF At-Large Director and Worcester County farmer
