Mark your calendars for Oct. 13, as the Franklin County Farm Bureau is set to host its annual tractor ride that day. The ride will start and end at Foxbard Farm in Shelburne Falls. Now is the time to enter your tractor and make plans to attend.

“Please consider entering your tractor in this foliage ride, during which you will meet some of the key leaders of Franklin County Farm Bureau,” said Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation President Mark Amato, who manages Verrill Farm in Concord. “As farmers we don’t always get a chance to visit in a social setting and these rides give us the opportunity to gather, promote agriculture and enjoy a day off the farm.”

All drivers must have a valid license, rubber wheeled tractors, no passengers, tractors capable of 12 mph, working brakes, slow moving vehicle sign(s) and no trailers. Please note that all tractors are subject to inspection.

For more details, including how to register your tractor, please contact Franklin County Farm Bureau Secretary Regina Grover at grover.regina@gmail.com. The Franklin County Farm Bureau looks forward to seeing you and possibly your tractor at the upcoming ride.

Hampshire County Farm Bureau will also be hosting a tractor ride on Sept. 8 at Outlook Farm in Westhampton. To register to ride in that event, please contact Richard Jaescke at 413-584-7898. It is $20 to just participate in the tractor ride and $32 to participate in the tractor ride and take part in the meal.

The Franklin County Farm Bureau belongs to the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation, which represents nearly 6,000 family members across the Commonwealth. The Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation is a non-profit association consisting of 11 member organizations and is part of The American Farm Bureau Federation.
